February 20, 2023

Read Aloud Month starts on March 1st!

How often do you read aloud to the children in your care? Reading aloud to young children, particularly in an engaging manner, promotes emerging literacy and language development and supports the relationship between child and parent/caregiver. Research shows that reading aloud is the single most important thing you can do to help a child prepare for reading and learning. Our partners at Read Aloud for 15 Minutes have an annual 21-Day challenge which encourages you to read aloud for at least 15 minutes for 21 days in a row. Join the challenge!

In addition to their previous materials, Read Aloud has created new "Hop, Leap, and Learn" materials including a reading tracker, trivia questions, and a bookmark.
