Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cup enriched all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup water, or milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix both flours, salt and baking powder. Then add in oil and water/milk. Combine all ingredients together until it forms a bread-like dough. The dough should not be sticky.
  3. Flour your clean worktable and knead the bread for about 2 minutes. Then form into one large round ball. Flatten until it is the size of a pie pan and about 1/2" thick. With a fork, poke holes throughout the top of the bread.
  4. Place dough on baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Brush a little oil over the top before baking to keep bread moist. Cut into 24 even slices.

One slice provides 3/4 oz eq grains.
