2021-2022 CACFP Reimbursement Rates



The USDA has released the CACFP reimbursement rates for 2021-2022. Rates are effective from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

As a reminder, there is a current USDA nationwide waiver which allows all family child care homes to claim Tier 1 reimbursement rates regardless of location through June 30, 2022. At-risk afterschool care centers, regardless of their location, can also claim all meals and snacks at the free rate. Read More

Summary of Changes for Contiguous States

Family Child Care Homes

  • Breakfast increased 1 cent (Tier I) and 1 cent (Tier II)
  • Lunch/Supper increased 2 cents (Tier I) and 1 cent (Tier II)
  • Snack did not change for Tier I or Tier II


  • Breakfast increased 8 cents (free and reduced) and 1 cent (paid)
  • Lunch/Supper increased 15 cents (free and reduced) and 2 cents (paid)
  • Snack increased 4 cents (free), 2 cents (reduced), and 1 cent (paid)


  • Increase of $6 per month for initial 50 homes
  • Increase of $5 per month for next 150 homes
  • Increase of $4 per month for next 800 homes
  • Increase of $3 for each additional home
