Provider Appreciation Day
May 8, 2025

You're Our Heroes
Tomorrow, May 9th, is Provider Appreciation Day, and we wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much the work you do matters. We’ve all heard the phrase “not all superheroes wear capes,” and not to be cheesy, but in this case it is true. Instead of a cape, you may wear an apron, a monitor’s hat, a power of the food program sticker, or an advocate badge.
We recognize the work that you do and how much it impacts those you serve, whether that be children or adults in your care, CACFP providers, sponsoring organizations, or your communities. You are a food security hero!
And, we want you to be supported for the tireless work you do to ensure your community is food and nutrition secure. That’s why, we at NCA are advocating for legislation in Congress to increase reimbursement rates, allow an additional meal, and reduce the burden of the CACFP.
So far, we have assisted advocates in sending almost 4,000 letters to their elected officials seeking support for this critical legislation. Have you sent your letters yet? If not, take a moment to tell your elected officials about how your work impacts your community and ensures that children and adults in care do not go hungry.
Learn more about the bills in congress on our blog. As always, you can contact us at policy@cacfp.org with any questions.
