Day Nursery of Abilene Orange Street

We took our Pre-K class to HEB to explore a variety of international fruits and vegetables and expand our knowledge of healthy lifestyle habits. The children got a tour of the grocery store and got to see the different departments such as the produce section and the meat department. After the tour, the children even got to try dragon fruit, red bananas, and mangos! It was exciting for children to expand their knowledge on these uncommon fruits and taste them for themselves.

After arriving back at the center, the children got to continue expanding their knowledge on these fruits by talking about what they already know while their teacher gave them more fun facts and relay the importance of healthy living habits such as eating a wide variety of foods from all of the food groups!
