Race to Readiness

Our Partners at Read Aloud 15 Minutes launched a “Race to Readiness” campaign. Inspired by race cars and the goal of 500 minutes of reading aloud, this campaign is designed to help prepare kids for a successful future. 

Did you know that over one-third of children start kindergarten unprepared? While it may seem small, research shows that children who begin behind face long-term challenges in school. That’s why we need to race to get every child ready – starting with just 15 minutes of reading aloud each day, beginning at birth.

Their new materials include a Race to Readiness calendar, tracker, activity sheet, certificate, and a handout that explains racing flags and highlights the importance of kindergarten readiness.
