Free Webinar: USDA Listening Session: SFSP Rural, Non-Congregate Summer Meals
May 31, 2023
USDA wants to hear from you! The National CACFP Sponsors Association, in collaboration with USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service, invites you to participate in a webinar to provide feedback on successful implementation of non-congregate summer meal service in rural communities. Â
Last December, Congress took a major step forward to ensure kids don’t go hungry over the summer months. Specifically, Congress established a permanent option to serve non-congregate summer meals in rural areas. The law requires USDA to issue an Interim Final Rule (IFR) governing both rural non-congregate meal service by the end of 2023, and USDA is working hard to meet that deadline.  Â
Your feedback is critical to developing the IFR, informing future guidance, and other USDA resources for successful implementation of the summer meal programs. USDA is committed to developing regulations that provide clarity and direction where needed. In service of these goals, we look forward to hearing from you!  Â
Participants will be asked to provide feedback to a series of questions through polls and the Q&A function. There will be no live discussion. Please contact NCA staff if you have questions about registration at nca@cacfp.org.   Â
Join USDA on June 14, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Eastern.Â
